Microscopy Techniques

SQUASH METHOD
this is commonly done to specimens that are soft and enough to be squashed.

MOUNTING METHOD
the process where solid, commonly opaque specimens are directly placed above the glass slide. Afterwards, a cover slip will be placed above it before being viewed under the microscope.

SMEAR METHOD
it is usually prepared by spreading material uniformly onto a glass slide, fixing it, and staining it before examination.

SQUASH METHOD

Explanation

The onion root tips can be prepared and squashed in a way that allows them to be flattened on a microscopic slide, so that the chromosomes of individual cells can be observed easily.

Uterine tissues are soft and probably squashable too so it belongs to this method as well as the brain tissue.

MOUNTING METHOD

Explanation

These are all solid specimens therefore, they belong to this method. These are being processed by placing the specimens above the glass slide then a cover slip will be place on top of it.

SMEAR METHOD

Explanation

Smear method are commonly used on liquid specimen. These blood, saliva, and animal's semen are all liquid. They are processed by spreading the specimen uniformly onto the glass and then staining it.
